QR Code scanner
A QR code scanner is built into the event app. Participants do not need any additional apps: they simply need to open the scanner and point the camera at the code.
A single scanner supports multiple scenarios:
- gamification: points for scanning a code, e.g. at a partner’s stand,
- badges: earning badges assigned to a location,
- city scavenger hunt: task details and points upon finding a code,
- surveys and quizzes: opening a survey after scanning its code,
- business cards: exchanging business cards between participants,
- shop: selection of a product or gift,
- self-check-in: check-in without the need for reception staff and marking of visited zones.
Partners and exhibitors with the appropriate authorisation can scan participants’ codes and award them points. A separate reception app is used to manage entry to the event; we describe this in the article QR check-in for events.
